It looks much nicer than the original "no weld" grinder plans. Idler wheels, may be able to use a set of poly casters that you can grease from Grizzly also.

I built a grinder using BossDog's no weld grinder plans. It's served me very well so far. Doesn't have a VFD just a four step pulley but with the link belt it's very easy to change speeds. Just move the belt over. Nothing has to be loosened to do that. I'm saving my pennies for a new grinder but until then this one gets the job done.
I'm currently gathering parts to assemble the no-weld grinder/sander, and hope to have operating in the next 4-6 weeks (time permitting). FYI, the 'master materials list' doesn't cover the flat platen tool, and in 1 or 2 of the diagrams the tool arms are showing different tube sizes (1 3/4" vs 1 1/2"), which was the source of some confusion.

I don't know, it's the same drive wheel that was on it when it was my 2" x 48" Rockwell belt grinder. Unless you build a lot of machinery I'd recommend finding a set of plans. Take a look at the problems being had making the no weld grinder. There are things you have to get right or they just won't work properly, tracking has to be precise.

Posted February 20, 2018. The rule of thumb is ~1kW into the motor for every horsepower that comes out of it so your 1.5kW would probably be closer to 1.5hp, maybe a bit more on a good day. More would be nice to have, but 1.5kW will make a lot of knives if the extra money just isn't there. -Brian.
