I just removed the pump by removing the three mounting bolts, pulled the pump up where the airfilter normally sits, unbolted the high pressure line from the pump to the hydroboost just on the pump side, removed return line from the pump and put all together on the new pump. I didnt remove any line at the hydroboost.
2. The absolute best way is to replace the entire steel line. When this isn't possible, use as much steel as you can and as little fuel injection rated hose as possible. The issue with rubber hose is that it will seep fuel if the outside of the steel line is rusty or has a rough uneven surface. Find a clean area with minimal rust.
