Classification of Oxides

A basic oxide is an oxide that when combined with water gives off a base. When a substance reacts chemically, both as a base or acid is termed as amphoteric oxide. Neutral Oxide is one that neither has an acidic characteristic nor a basic one. Metal Oxides have an oxidation number of -2 and generally comprise an oxygen anion.

(PDF) Gold in iron oxide copper–gold deposits

Iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) deposits are distinguished by higher copper grades than porphyry copper deposits (mostly > 1%) and wide range of low grade gold (Sillitoe, 2003). The grade gold in ...

Bridging the copper supply gap

Leaching-based technologies have traditionally been applied to oxide or secondary sulfide ore bodies. However, recent developments can help extend this processing pathway to primary-sulfide ore bodies. ... Flotation is generally economical for ores with levels of copper that are greater than 0.25 percent, 5 As an average copper …

Heap Leaching Oxide and Sulfide Copper Ores

The acid consumptions curves for the oxide copper ore (number 3) with a high iron oxide-tactile gangue were somewhat different than those of oxide copper-porphery gangue ore number 1. In tests 9 through 14 the incremental acid curves were generally low at the start, fairly high after 3 to 4 days of leaching, and very high thereafter.

Statistical investigation of flotation parameters for copper recovery

A maximum recovery of copper was 88,58% while the grade was 2,88 with 32,29 copper oxide on the total massive copper under the flotation conditions: 1,15 pulp density, 10 g/t dosage collector, 10 g/t dosage frother, and 50 g/t dosage dispersant and the maximum grade 12,24 while the recovery was 47,02% under the flotation conditions: …

Study on the electronic and structural properties of oxidized copper

Copper oxides are frequently used in various applications due to their nontoxicity, natural abundance of starting material, and remarkable physical and chemical properties. 1 Copper oxides exist in three phases; cuprous oxide or cuprite (Cu 2 O), cupric oxide or tenorite (CuO), and paramelaconite (Cu 4 O 3). 2 Among the three, cuprous …

Copper(I) Oxide

Copper (I) Oxide is also called as cuprous oxide, an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Cu 2 O. It is covalent in nature. Copper (I) oxide crystallizes in a cubic structure. It is easily reduced by hydrogen when …

Understanding Copper Grades

Continental Steel offers the following copper grades: C101. Oxygen-Free Electronic (OFE) Copper, C10100. C102. Oxygen-Free Copper, C10200. C120. Deoxidized Low Phosphorus (DLP) Copper, C12000. C122. Deoxidized High Phosphorus (DHP) Copper, C12200.

Bal-tec

Grade 50 or grade 100 are usually available as an economic alternative to grade 25. ... electrical conductor, and has excellent solder ability with soft solder, but may require chemical cleaning to remove an oxide layer. Brass has a hardness of less than 30 HRC, is very machinable, and it may be drilled and tapped easily. ... Copper, usually ...

The Ore Grade and Depth Influence on Copper …

This warrants the first conclusion: Statistically Eq. ( 4) is the best model for mines with milling/flotation. On the basis of this, an ore grade of 0.5, 0.4 and 0.3% at 300 m of depth results in an energy cost of 60, …

How is Copper Ore Processed

OXIDE COPPER CONCENTRATES— The high grade concentrates are, after automatic sampling, fed to Dorr Type thickeners (40′ and 50′ dia.). The thickened underflow pulp from these thickeners is stored in four Goldfields type (20′-6″ dia.) tanks from where it is sent to eight rotary vacuum drum filters (six 12′ x 11′-6″ Oliver and two ...

Heap leaching was originally developed to process copper oxide ores, ... 2006). Bacterially-assisted heap leaching of low-grade copper sulphides is a developing technology that has been applied successfully to the extraction of copper from sulphide minerals such as chalcocite at ore grades down to 0.15% (Watling, 2006).

Iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) deposits

The diverse group of iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) deposits has been one of the most contentious classes of ore deposits since its recognition as a new type in the mid 1980s to early 1990s. Central to the debates have been the issues of definition, classification, the roles of magmatic versus and non-magmatic sources of fluids and …
